According to police, Singer Chris Brown was arrested early Sunday in Washington and charged with felony assault.
Chris Brown got into a physical altercation with an adult male near the W Hotel, just blocks away from Park 14 around 4:25 a.m. local time. D.C. Metro Police Lt. Joe Trippi said Brown and his guard were arrested and charged with a felony assault and will probably not get a chance to appear in court until Monday. The name of the alleged victim was not released but D.C. police spokesman Paul Metcalf said the man was injured and was reportedly taken to a hospital. He had been released from the hospital as of early Sunday afternoon. |
Chris Hollosy, a 35-year-old male who was with Brown, was also arrested in the incident and was charged the same.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Brown allegedly punched a man in the face. The sources said a woman approached Brown to take a picture with him, but then two other men stopped by to get into the photo.
The R&B star - Chris Brown has been dealing with legal problems since 2009, when he was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Barbados-born songstress, Rihanna, in Hollywood.
His probation was revoked briefly earlier this year after a hit-and-run incident, and he was given 1,000 more hours of community service to perform. There were allegations that he may have skated on some or all of the 1,400 hours he was first assigned.
In August, Brown’s probation was reinstated and does not end until Aug. 25, 2014.
