Acer Iconia W4 8 inch Windows tablet with Bay Trail processor

The Acer Iconia W4 is an upgraded Acer Iconia W3 tablet. There are 2 biggest improvements involve the processor and the display.

The Acer Iconia W4 is a tablet with an 8 inch display - 1200 x 800. It’s been upgraded from a TN panel to an IPS display.

The new Bay Trail chip should offer up to twice the performance over the Clover Trail processor in the Acer Iconia W3, while also offering longer battery life.

The Acer Iconia W4 is powered by Windows 8.1 software and offers a free version of Office 2013 Home & Student Edition.

The Acer Iconia W4 reportedly has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of solid state storage, a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, microSD card reader and micro HDMI port. It also features WiFi, Bluetooth, and a much improved "wide view angle" (GPS).
The back and front cameras weigh in at 5MP and 2MP respectively, and the keyboard dock that works on the Acer Iconia W3 will work on the new model.

We have no idea when the model will be available, but if this tablet comes with Windows 8.1 pre-loaded, it seems safe to assume it won’t launch until after Windows 8.1 becomes available in mid-October. The Acer Iconia W4 is expected to sell for about 329 EUR - it’ll cost $400 or less when it hits the US.
