Samsung is reportedly going to unveil its Ativ Book 9 Plus laptops for pre-order in the US on August 18. The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is an update to the 13" Full HD Series 9 Ultrabook and that model itself was just an update to a 2012 model that did not have the 1080p screen.

A mere 0.54 inches thin, this Windows 8 laptop features a 13.3-inch screen, an Intel Core i5 processor, an aluminum shell, and up to 7.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Samsung's SideSync and HomeSync Lite technologies allow you to share files with your smartphone and other devices.

The screen is designed to hold its brightness even under sunny outdoor conditions and the display panel can tilt back to 180 degrees and lock in at 110 degrees to provide a more solid touch-screen feel and is Windows 8 enabled.
Samsung's intriguing Side Sync technology makes it possible to mirror a Samsung phone or tablet on the Ativ Book 9's display, or for that tablet or phone to double as an extra display. Both devices can be controlled with your Book 9 keyboard and mouse. It's a clever trick for travel and cramped desks, but requires buying into the Samsung hardware ecosystem for your PC and mobile device.
The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor and comes with a 128GB solid-state drive and 4GB of RAM. The battery is designed to last 7.5 hours on single charge.
