Skye McCole Bartusiak who played Mel Gibson's youngest daughter in "The Patriot," died Saturday July 1 at her home in Houston, Bartusiak's mother said Sunday.
Skye was only 21 years old.
The cause of death was not immediately known, but She reportedly had been suffering from seizures and on Saturday morning her boyfriend came home and found her sitting up in bed in her parents converted garage.
Bartusiak's mother said, "She's suffered epileptic seizures since she was a baby, although they disappeared for a few years until returning last week."
Helen McCole Bartusiak - Bartusiak's mother said to CNN, "Skye’s boyfriend found her sitting up in her bed in the apartment adjacent to her parents’ home".
"We think she had a seizure and choked and nobody was there," Helen said.
