Samsung appears intent on single-handedly bringing back the word "cameraphone," if the Galaxy S4 Zoom and this year Samsung doubled down on the new market niche it created, by introducing the Galaxy K zoom.
Hugely improved from the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom combines the best bits from a scaled-down Galaxy S5 smartphone and a point-and-shoot camera. It’s not too expensive, either.
Unlike the Galaxy S5's 16MP camera, the Galaxy K Zoom features a 20.7MP camera that comes with 10x optical zoom, optical image stabilisation and Xenon flash.
The phone also has a 1.3GHz quad-core and 1.7 dial-core CPU, and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The K Zoom has a screen size of 4.8 inches, you get a 1280 x 720 display, 2GB of RAM and a paltry 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is also compatible with Samsung’s wearable devices including Gear Fit, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom will come in black or white and with an RRP of $749 from all major retailers across Australia.
