Launching in the first week of November, the Toshiba Encore is an 8-inch tablet running the full version of Windows 8.1, with prices starting from $399 for a model with 32GB internal storage.
The Toshiba Encore tablet is powered by the new Intel Bay Trail chipset in the form of a 1.3GHz quad-core Atom chip, alongside 2GB of RAM for all your Windows 8.1 processing needs. Toshiba will include a full version of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 pre-installed on the tablet. The pre-installed software package includes Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote applications, but lacks the Outlook e-mail client. Microsoft also includes 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage, as well as 30 free Skype minutes. The tablet comes in 2 models, 32GB model for $399 and 64GB model for $469. |
The tablet has an 8-inch multi-touch display (1280 x 800 pixel IPS display), 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Intel HD graphics, dual microphones, an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera, a micro HDMI port, microSd card slot, and micro USB 2.0 port.
The tablet measures 8.4″ x 5.4″ x 0.43″ and weighs 1.1 pounds.
