Google’s Glass Accessory Store Is Coming !

Based on reports first shared in a private Google forum for Glass Explorers, Google is bringing an official accessory store for Google Glass online this evening.

On the Glass Explorers forum a new thread popped up Wednesday pointing to help pages that outline how the earbuds will work, who Google has partnered with for shades and shields, how Glass charging works, along with other material.

The store appears to be part of the "My Glass" control panel area that all Explorers use to manage their device and its apps. It’s also reachable via the Google Glass Help website, which has a new section called “Accessories” that links to sections labeled Charger, Earbuds, Shades and shields, Swapping frames and Pouch.
Google has partnered with with Maui Jim and Zeal Optics to include a sunglass shade with every new Glass. Each Help section, except for "Swapping frames" links readers to the accessory store.

For other accessories, Google Glass will come with a USB cable and charger; users can charge and transfer photos and videos by connecting the cable to their computers. A mono earbud also will be included with all devices, which will work for phone calls or listening to music. Google said that it will additionally include protective pouches for storing Glass.

At the moment, the store only shows four products. Only one is listed as being in stock, and they’re all quite expensive:

  • Clear Shield: $75

  • Extra Mono Earbud: $50 (out of stock)

    • Extra Pouch: $50 (out of stock)
    • Extra Cable and Charger: $50 (out of stock)
