Amanda Bynes was arrested Sunday morning on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs after she stopped her car in the middle of an intersection in Sherman Oaks.
According to California Highway Patrol officer Leland Tang, Amanda Bynes was pulled over at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. After she failed a field sobriety test, she was taken to the LAPD Van Nuys station, where she was given an evaluation. Police "determined she was under the influence of a drug" and charged her with DUI.
"She ran a red light and stopped in the middle of (a) T-shaped intersection. Our officer observed her, and she appeared under the influence. She was unable to complete field sobriety tests, at which point she was taken to our station."
TMZ reports she was held on $15,000 bail, which she later posted.
She currently has an upcoming court date scheduled for Oct. 23.
Attorney Tamar Arminak said, "Amanda currently is on zero medication" He continued. "She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she's been marijuana-free for the past nine months."
A representative for Amanda Bynes, who is currently living with her parents in California, has yet to comment on the incident.
Back in February, when she struck a plea deal in connection with a DUI charge from June 2012. Bynes agreed to three years' probation, plus completion of an alcohol education course, in exchange for the charge against her being dismissed.
In the wake of the arrest two years ago, Amanda Bynes had several run-ins with law enforcement in L.A. and New York that culminated with her setting a fire in the driveway of a Southern California home and being taken into custody on a mental health hold last year by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Amanda Bynes entered a psychiatric treatment facility, and her mother, Lynn, was granted conservatorship of the actress.
In recent months, Amanda Bynes has been attending the design classes while continuing treatment.
She is already on probation in California for driving with a suspended license and was accused in New York of throwing a glass bong out her 36th-floor Manhattan apartment.
