On Tuesday, BlackBerry announced a new smartphone - the BlackBerry 9720. The BlackBerry 9720 offers an aesthetic similar to of BlackBerry’s classic Curve series.
Running the older BB 7.1 OS which boasts an updated interface with swipe-to-unlock access to the phone and camera. There's also built-in FM radio and Multicast.
The BlackBerry 9720 comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display with a 360x480 pixels resolution, boasting an image density of 214PPI and an optical trackpad. It features a full physical QWERTY keyboard.
Under the hood is an 806MHz Tavor MG1 processor and has 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with 4X digital zoom and image stabilisation, but lacks a front-facing camera. It also includes a 1450mAh removable battery that offers up to 7 hours talk time or 18 days on standby.

The BlackBerry 9720 also has a dedicated BBM and BBM Voice shortcut key on the side of the device that makes it quick and convenient to access the globally popular mobile social network.
The all new BlackBerry 9720 will be available in selected markets like Europe, Latin America and Asia in the coming weeks. However, the pricing of the device has not been revealed yet.
