After AT&T Gets Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, Sprint Gets Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport

There’s another Samsung Active smartphone headed to the market - a version of the popular Samsung smartphone that is water resistant and dust proof, this one with another new name - Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport.

If you want an Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, your only choice is AT&T. Meanwhile, the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport is a Sprint exclusive.

The smartphone is going on sale July 25th with a limited time if you buy a Galaxy S5 Sport you'll get $50 off the Gear Fit wristband - one of Samsung's new wearable fitness devices.

Pricing is listed as $27.09 for 24 months on Easy Pay scheme.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport essentially the same as the Galaxy S5 Active. However, the new phone does come with IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy S5 Sport has 5.1-inch 1920x1080 resolution AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 2800mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat, a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front snapper. Internal storage is 16GB, though expandable through the use of microSD cards.

All the usual connectivity options are in there, including 4G LTE (with support for Sprint Spark), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS.

The device will be available in 2 colors from Sprint - Electric Blue and Cherry Red.
